Edit: Cont. from initial review below. Seller got back to me and offered to send a new knife block. It looks like it may be a common defect because it appears they just drilled out more area for me to fit the knife in all the way and this area was not stained but hey, it works and they were quick about getting back to me and rectifying the situation with little work from myself. Not sure if it was for custom’s purpose but they also included a free knife! Knives are sharp and look nice!Original post: After way too much back and forth searching for a the perfect knife set at the right price to gift to myself, I was really looking forward to this set! Opening up the package, the box looked mostly intact, the knives were looking great, the scissors had a couple dings but they were just the scissors after all...then I tried to put all the knives away in their given slots in the block but when I got to the pairing knife...as you can see in the photos, it doesn’t fit. Super bummed! Tried to send an email through Amazon to the seller and it couldn’t go through. Not sure what can be done other than to return these. Also now questioning the quality of the knives themselves after seeing the lack of quality control in just the housing device...These are NOT Damascus steel - the design is laser etched. That said, they do come out of the box razer sharp, and they look and feel great. I had concern about quality though since multiple blades came chipped and some had rust spots already. Customer service was great and offered to replace those blades. Instead I returned them, but after trying out a bunch of different sets (and ultimately going with a more expensive one), I do feel that these bring a sharpness and feel that is hard to find otherwise at this price point.Amazing knifes good wheightHow every i was disappointed the plate on the knife block is crookedThe design in the metal is not nearly as show as the pics but they are amazing knivesLove these knives . But make sure you keep them dry as they easily rustFor a $200 knife set I was hoping I would not have any issues, however the slot for the paring knife is not big enough so some of the blade sticks out. The knives are great though.Very sharp happy with themWhere do I start with this knife set. 1st, bent blade, 2nd, another blade had a big gouge in it. 3rd, the smallest knife doesn’t fit its designated slot( doesn’t go along way in, it stops to soon). 4th, the knife block had chips and scratches with missing stain.The knifes themselves are ok. The packaging could be better a lot better. We got the knifes and the chef knife had a nick in it. Also the pairing knife doesn’t fit into the block. From the other reviews you can see that it’s a pretty common issue and nobody is getting a response.Excellent setExcellent quality steel.
